Clearing your garage, downsizing or simply doing a spring clean? Drop off second hand items at a one of our shops or request collection using the form below if your donation is larger than your car can manage.Â
All of our shops provide work opportunities for people on the U-turn Homeless Ministries programme. When you donate goods, you are providing work, skills and a new life for people looking to turn their lives around.
What can you donate to U-turn?
Clothing
Please note we cannot accept branded clothing (eg. with the UCT logo or a company logo), underwear, single shoes or socks. Otherwise, we take everything!
Although all our clothes are laundered, it certainly helps us if you are able to donate washed and undamaged clothing.
Household Goods
If you have high-value goods and would like to earn some extra cash, consign them with us. We do the hard work of showcasing your items to our loyal clients—furniture is displayed at our dedicated Warehouse in Tygerberg, Cape Town, while clothing, shoes, and accessories are sold through our online shop. You get to relax while we handle the rest! We charge a 20% consignment fee for furniture, and a 40% fee for clothing, shoes, and accessories. Office Goods
U-turn is able to collect large quantities of stock, including office furniture, computers, and other items. Please request a collection using the form below. Much of the donated office equipment helps support the operations of U-turn’s offices, shops, and businesses. Items that cannot be used internally are sold in U-turn charity shops. Please note: SARS does not allow Section 18A certificates for donated secondhand goods.

* Please note that we only accept consignment goods with an final sale value of R1 000 or more per item. The final sale value is mutually agreed on after we evaluate your item.
